Personal Critique on My Last Site
Website: http://www.lak-art-mob.com/hahn/
The problem with “hot spotting” is the fact of not being able to change the links color and I find that very annoying. And the fact that I created each page individually in Photoshop and saved them as a full image, makes the loading process longer for other people still using land-lines or just a bad connection. So in the long run, some may actually just lose their patients and move onto a different website. So, as far as “hot spotting”, you will never find me using it except on a minimal effort.
#3 of 3 Critiques
The 3rd website that I chose to critique is AlphaHorse.com. Visually, I believe this website could use some work, but as far as information and functionality. I find it very useful. The colors chosen are very warming to the eye making it easy to read the information provided and the navigation on this site is also very easy to work with. Because of the main navigation links available at the top right of the page and bottom (secondary links).
But one thing that really bugs me is the actual “header” of the page…. At least for me when I think of sites that I’ve visited and liked, I always remember the header with its logo. But in the instance of this website, the logo is so darn basic and with hardly any contrast. If it wasn’t for the drop shadow given to the actual words on the logo I probably wouldn’t have even noticed it.
2nd of 3 Critiques
The Second of three websites I’m critiquing is “FreakingNews.com”. Heck with a name like that, how can you not checkout the site? On this site you will find daily Photoshop contest ranging from the daily news to just about whatever you can come up with from a single photo that the site provides. The main design of the site is fairly simple, but the one thing I don’t agree with, would be the ads at the top of the site. The one thing I would like see with that is to have them moved to the other side of the page in ascending order and out of the way. And with them out of the way it now gives a little more room for the header and navigation area.
As far as the navigation of the site I find that to be efficient, with the main navigation at the top and the secondary navigation at the bottom. Although, I would probably clean up the secondary navigation a little. “It just looks thrown together”
1st of 3 website critiques
Although, I find the site visually pleasing, I would have to say that the navigation needs some work (at least in my own opinion). In the current websites being posted now, you will most likely find a secondary navigation bar for the users somewhere on the page. This site only contains a link back to the “Home” page. And most users would find that very annoying after time. But as an overall portfolio website I like that fact that it includes the artists work that has already been done for previous clients. So that future employers have an idea of what they are getting for their money.

Are "Freelance" websites really freelance???
Come on America... you know the problems that all Americans are having and your giving these jobs (our jobs) to them. I'm starting to think American businesses are enjoying are economic downfall.
They just need to keep in mind that because of there actions now, there business will soon follow!
